Aquatic Physical Therapy and Exercise Classes

Aquatic Therapy And Aquatic Physical Therapy

Butte Premier Physical Therapy is now offers both aquatic physical therapy (also called hydrotherapy) as well as aquatic exercise classes in our Hydroworx 3500 pool; so what’s the difference?

Aquatic Physical Therapy

Aquatic physical therapy includes but is not limited to treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, health, wellness and fitness of patient / client populations in an aquatic environment.

Aquatic Physical Therapy is often covered by insurance and includes a formal initial evaluation, daily visits, status summaries and a discharge once goals are met.

Aquatic therapy is performed by a trained physical therapist and utilizes treatments and exercises in an aquatic environment to recover from injuries, rehabilitate after surgical procedures and improve disabilities.

Aquatic Exercise Classes

Aquatic exercise classes utilize the unique properties of water to assist with reaching fitness or health related goals. Our pool exercise classes are currently offered 4 days a week and last 30 minutes. Your class will include walking or running on the treadmill as well as upper and lower body resistance exercises and will be tailored to you.

Although not a requirement of aquatic exercise classes, our classes are unique because they are led by a trained PT who can personalize the class to help you reach your goals while ensuring any physical impairments or pains you may have are not made worse.

Benefits of BPPT’s hydrotherapy / aquatic classes:

  • Two underwater treadmills
  • Underwater resistance therapy jets
  • Video equipment to analyze and correct walking patterns
  • Warm therapeutic water Bromide pool is less harsh than chlorine
  • Water “unweights” your joints, decreasing pain
  • Small class size
  • Exercises customized to you
